The Minister for Return and Communities and the chairman of the Serbian List, Goran Rakic, stated that it is possible for Serbs living in Kosovo to form the Association of Communes by themselves.
According to him, Serbs in Kosovo will not agree to endless delays of waiting for the formation of this Association.
“The formation of the Association of Communes with a Serbian Majority is an international obligation of Prishtina, which the representatives of Prishtina committed themselves to and not only them but the representatives of the European Union also. What is being heard now by some international representatives is an attempt to diminish the importance of the Association, despite the agreement that has already been reached.
Serbian people will not agree to this, just as they won’t agree to an endless delay. In this sense, we do not deny the possibility of forming the Association ourselves, respecting the international agreement that provided for its existence”, he said.
A few days ago, Rakic requested that local Serbs in Kosovo be excluded from the decision of Albin Kurti’s government on reciprocity.
Kurti and the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, will meet on August 18 in Brussels, to discuss the relations between both countries.
