The former General Director of the State Police, Ardi Veliu, was introduced this Friday as the new head of the Police Supervision Agency.

Veliu has replaced Muhamet Rrumbullak in this post. The latter is one of the most rumored candidates to replace Gledis Nano as Chief of Police.

Gledis Nano was dismissed on Wednesday from the post of General Director of Police.

The news was announced by Interior Minister Bledi Cuci after a routine government meeting.

For the moment, the duties of the General Chief of Police will be exercised by the Deputy Director General, Tonin Vocaj.
