Expulsion of Iranian diplomats, White House adviser calls Rama

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House, Jake Sullivan held a telephone conversation this Thursday with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Through a statement from the White House, it was announced that Sullivan expressed the support of the United States after Iran’s cyber-attack on July 15.

They also expressed their commitment to continue working together on Albania’s remediation efforts and cyber security measures.

Among other things, Sullivan expressed his appreciation for Albania’s generous reception of Afghan citizens who fled Afghanistan, and the partnership between the two countries on regional and global issues, including NATO, was discussed.

Prime Minister Edi Rama requested a day ago that the diplomatic staff of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran leave Albania within 24 hours. During a speech published on social media, Rama declared that the decision of the Council of Ministers comes after it was discovered that the Islamic Republic of Iran was behind the July 15 cyber-attack.
