This Thursday, the president of Italy, Sergio Matarlla, visited Albania, where he held meetings with the highest heads of state and politics in the country.

During the joint conference with his Albanian counterpart, Matarella, once again reiterated the support that Italy has given and continues to give to Albania in the process of European integration.

“Albania’s future is in Europe and without the Western Balkans, the Union of the continent will be incomplete. This is an essential part of the integration project of the entire continent, and what happened on July 19, once again emphasizes the importance of this goal. Albania is a key point in the region not only in terms of bilateral but also national projects. I had the opportunity to express to President Begaj and his delegation that Italy will be on Albania’s side in its further journey to its full membership” – said Sergio Matarella.

While President Bajram Begaj during his speech, commended the economic cooperation between our two countries.

“We welcome an increased presence of Italian businesses and appreciate the contribution of Italian enterprises in our country. The first joint economic commission developed in Rome last year is an important instrument in the identification of areas of mutual interest” – said Begaj.
