Euronews Albania reporter Kosove Gjoci reported from the Mitrovica bridge, which divides the city into two parts, the southern and the northern.
He said that from morning until lunchtime, the situation has been calm. At the border point in Brnjak, as reported by Gjoci, since 12 am at night, reprimands have been issued to all citizens whose cars are still possessing Serbian license plates as opposed to Kosovar ones.
So far there is no official figure. The Minister of Defense of Serbia, Milosh Vucevic, said that the Serbian army has been put on alert due to the situation in Kosovo, after the government’s decision on license plates.
The Minister of Defense underlined that this order was given by the president of this country, Aleksander Vucic. From November 21 to January 21, owners who still have cars with Serbian license plates in Kosovo will be fined 150 euros.
