The vice president of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), Arben Dervishaj, is one of the 5 people arrested, after the issuance of the 11 arrest warrants issued by SPAK for the incinerators of Fier and Elbasan.

Journalist Poli Hoxha says that with the accusation he is facing, Dervishaj can be released from prison, converting his sentence to probation.

“They’ve been saying that he could be released on probation. He is being accused because he made fictitious invoices; Do you know what his ‘corruption’ was? They were able to catch him for some plane tickets, and some hotel stays, which you can find out from journalists, or even people in the administration. They cannot do anything to the big heads, the mayors, the illegal scheme of firms within the government. This scheme is out in the open now, it has been discovered. It is a complicated investigation”, he emphasized.

Businessman Arben Dervishi is suspected of having profited irregularly through a consulting firm, mainly with the Fier incinerator.

Euronews Albania learned that “house arrest” and “prison arrest” were security measures issued for: Arber Denizi, Juri Ymeraj, Silvester Dreza, Gentian Zifla, Arjola Kodra, Enver Sheshi, Robert Shabani, Regan Merdani, Luran Dusha and Arben Dervishaj.

The above-mentioned individuals are accused of fictitious actions, VAT evasion, and misuse of official duties for the 2 incinerators, in Fier and Elbasan. Some of them have not been found in their places of residence and there are suspicions that they may  be abroad.
