Prime Minister Edi Rama announced this Monday that he has signed 15 construction confiscation procedures, where the legal limits of permits have been exceeded, or in some cases, it has been built completely without a permit.
Through a video message on social networks, Rama stated that the confiscated buildings will be used for the public interest.
The head of the government responded to the opposition’s accusations about this action, stating that the government does not have the legal power to amnesty anyone adding that confiscations do not give anyone immunity from justice.
“Today, after going through all the legal links, I signed a total of 15 construction confiscation procedures, where the legal limits of the permits were exceeded or in some cases they were built without a permit at all. Confiscated buildings will be used for the public interest. The spaces obtained will be transferred to the state, which, as appropriate, will use them for office environments for the administration, social housing, or social services,” – wrote Rama on a Facebook status.
