There was a debate in the studio of Euronews Albania’s newsroom between former MP Klevis Balliu and the editor-in-chief of Liberale newspaper, Reldar Dedaj, about yesterday’s attack against the head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
Balliu said that the attack was organized by Edi Rama. While Dedaj said that Berisha won from yesterday’s incident, since even the foreign media called him the leader of the opposition.
Studio Debate:
Klevis Balliu: The first reason was to stop Sali Berisha’s speech, to provoke the crowd to attack state institutions, that’s why the analysts paid by Rama came before the protest and said that there will be violence and incidents in the protest. The party line said that there would be violence. Albanians know what Berisha said up there, but there were 1,000 foreign media. A lot of Narco-Euros was paid for lobbying.
Reldar Dedaj: Sali Berisha and the re-establishment are selling the story that [what happened] was in fact Edi Rama’s goal, but I see no reason as to why that would be the case; Berisha won everything in that shot.
Klevis Balliu: Rama’s attack was not successful. Sali Berisha has been in politics for the past 30 years. The embassies also reacted.
Reldar Dedaj: How can you be an alternative government when they don’t recognize you? Would it fix relations with the US and Britain? They reacted because of their human values, they would have reacted in any other similar instance, it doesn’t matter if it was the leader of the opposition or chairman of the DP.
