Albania has signed the agreement for the purchase of the fleet of Bayraktar drones from Turkey.

The news was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who in a statement to the press said that the drones purchased by Turkey are “the highest flight technology for military, police and civil missions, in the function of national security, the fight against crime and illegal cultivation of hashish, civil emergencies, protection of the territory and collection of geospatial information’.

Rama also stated that this agreement was reached thanks to the strategic partnership between Turkey and Albania, while he said that these drones are of a high level of technology.

“With this agreement, we are not bringing here to Albania the best technology in this field, but we will bring to Albania a new field of knowledge. It is very good that the agreement is not only to buy the drones but it is also about building a bridge between our FA and the company “Bajraktar” that will take care of the training of people. More than 30 people who will be selected very carefully with the help of the company ‘Bajraktar’ and will be prepared to take over the function of the control center which will be the object of the highest technology at the air base of Kucova”, said Rama.
