President Aleksandar Vucic left tonight shortly after 19:00 by helicopter from Belgrade to Rashka to meet with the Serbs from Kosovo on the administrative line.

He shared the news himself in a post he made on social media, where he emphasized that he will accept any decision of the Serbs regarding the barricades in the north of the southern province.

“Again on the way to Rashka, where I will talk with the Serbs of Kosovo (and Metohija). Knowing that they, until the final liberation, will not be satisfied with any decision, with a clear conscience and face, I go before them, convinced that today is a good day for Serbia, that we have preserved the peace and received guarantees for the safety and survival of Serbs. Whatever the decision of our people, I will accept it, I will be with them and we will preserve Serbian unity”, wrote Vucic on Instagram.

The head of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government, Petar Petkovic, in an earlier extraordinary press conference said that the EU and the US have given the strongest guarantees so far that all Serbian demands for the removal of barricades will be respected.

The barricades were set up on December 10 by a group of local Serbs, blocking the roads leading to the two border crossings, Jarinje and Bernnjak, that connect Kosovo with Serbia.
