The head of LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, proposed that all opposition parties unite in order to remove Edi Rama from power and at the same time eliminate corruption from the public administration.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, Shehi said that the only problem DP faces at the moment, is that it thinks it is the only party in the opposition and that there are no other parties out there that share the same goal. In his appeal, Shehi also called on Socialists disappointed with Rama to join the opposition in making this goal a reality.
“The problem is how to remove Edi Rama from power; how to get rid of the SP, get rid of corruption from the public administration, and in order to achieve that we need to join forces. The quarrel they have going on inside the party greatly damages the Democratic Party, but above all, the DP is damaged by the wrong idea that the DP is somehow the only opposition force out there and that if the elections are to be won, only the DP alone can make that happen. But, that is simply not the case.
Let’s unite all of the opposition and that part of the SP that is progressive and no longer supports Edi Rama, let them come on our side as well. If they haven’t understood this, they haven’t understood anything about politics or they don’t want to understand,” said Shehi.
