The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, stated that currently there is no risk of flooding, but due to continuous high-intensity rains, measures must be taken as the level of the rivers may rise suddenly.
Shkodra District: Buna River in Muriqan and Oblig has overtopped its banks. So far, an area of about 250-270 hectares has been flooded.
“Municipalities must take measures to warn the population, especially in those areas where there is a heightened risk of natural disasters,” said Peleshi.
According to him, municipalities should also increase their vigilance at hydrophores and reservoirs. There should also be readiness for cleaning the streets.
“Measures should be taken by the municipalities that have ports for the interruption of navigation in case it is deemed necessary,” said Peleshi.
