A patrol of the Kosovo Police in Bistrica, Leposaviqi was hit with a gun by a moving vehicle.

The Kosovo Police informs that the fire was opened by a vehicle which the Kosovo Police tried to stop.

The incident took place at noon this Monday at a checkpoint set up by the Kosovo police.

It is reported that the lives of Kosovo police officers were endangered by the shooting.

“Today, on January 23, in Bistrica, Leposaviq, a police unit was assigned with official duties at the checkpoint, with the aim of maintaining order and public safety, as well as preventing crime and smuggling. The police unit which was at the checkpoint, during the performance of police duties, tried to stop a car, which during the movement hit the Kosovo Police vehicle, directly endangering the lives of the police officers. The suspected persons, together with their vehicle, have left the scene, while the investigations related to the case are being carried out, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant justice bodies. Regarding the case, the Kosovo Police has also notified the Kosovo Police Inspectorate for further procedures”, the police announcement states.
