In the last part of the year, the salary in the public sector reached 610 euros, while in the private sector, 500 euros.

To reach this level, the average salary increased by 11% in Albania in 2022 compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, in neighboring countries, the increase results from 13 to 18%.

In the region, our wages are lower. The highest salaries are paid in Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro. Within a year, they have increased in all Balkan countries, but the biggest increase was seen in Bosnia and Serbia with 16 and 18%. Meanwhile, Albania has recognized the lowest level of average wage growth.
