The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, commented this Wednesday on the accusations made by the opposition, which is saying that Prime Minister Edi Rama has bribed the recently arrested former senior FBI official, Charles McGonigal, with the purpose of encouraging him to investigate the lobbyist of an opposing party.
During a press statement, Gjiknuri called the accusations ridiculous and fabricated by Sali Berisha, since it is impossible that this worldwide conspiracy was orchestrated by the office of Prime Minister Rama.
“The story becomes ridiculous and its only purpose was to try and dispel the resurfaced story of January 21 along with the new evidence. What we’re hearing right now in the media, is like the screenplay of a thriller movie that can only be called true in the minds of Sali Berisha or others who amplify them. That an Albanian could move the interests of the whole world, or that the Albanian prime minister could be the biggest corrupter of the whole world, is unimaginable. Until yesterday they said it was George Soros, now we got an Albanian-American cousin of Besnik Mustafaj. These are just some funny stories”, said Gjiknuri.
