Checks have also started in Vlora to detect security cameras installed on city streets or in local businesses, which are suspected of serving criminal organizations.

The operation started this morning, as the Vlora police are currently reserved in providing information, even though the operation in question is being carried out discreetly.

Information is awaited regarding whether or not security cameras controlled by crime will be discovered in Vlora as well, which may be removed in the coming days.

It’s worth mentioning that within the last 2 years, the Vlora Police have installed security cameras on the main streets of the city, a project which is still ongoing.

There will be a detailed check on the servers of these security cameras to make sure that there is no interference by criminal organizations privately. The area is also being monitored over a wide territory, to identify places where security cameras other than those of the state police may have been placed.

The Vlora Police also confirmed that until now there have been checks and confiscations of security cameras for all those people who have installed them in violation of the law. In many areas of the city, security cameras have been installed in public spaces that do not belong to businesses or individuals.

These security cameras violate the privacy of citizens, as they can also be used by exponents of organized crime groups.
