More than ever before since the independence of Kosovo, the international community is committed to an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
This was clearly seen as one of the issues discussed in the White House, between President Biden and the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen.
Von Der Leyen, in the press conference held after the meeting at the White House, said that it is very important that the dialogue continues.
The head of the European Commission has said that it is certainly not an easy process and that there are many issues to be resolved.
“We touched on this topic. It is very important that the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue continues. It’s not easy. There are many issues to be resolved, but it is moving in the right direction and there is full support from both sides, the US and the EU, for this dialogue,” Von Der Leyen said.
Meanwhile, a few days before the Ohrid meeting, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is visiting Kosovo. Greece is one of the 5 EU member states that has not yet recognized Kosovo and that it has often been emphasized that it may be the first to recognize it after signing the agreement on the European plan.
