The next meeting of the Stabilization-Association Council between the EU and Albania took place today in Tirana.

As part of this meeting, the two senior officials of the European Union, Joseph Borrell and European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi, are in Tirana.

In the joint press conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that Albania has made significant steps in the integration process, especially with the justice reform.

Rama emphasized that the new justice system is targeting people connected to power, which, according to him, has never happened before.

“The reform in justice has begun to bear significant fruits. It is not a field of flowers, it has its own thorns and pits, what is happening in Albania no one imagined long ago. The new justice is hitting people connected to power or not, these first ones are more important. As never before in the history of the country, it is being shown that the time of the untouchables is over. I am proud that Albania is the only country in the region that has taken this step, without looking left and right, looking straight. Whoever has business with justice should get a lawyer, SP and the government do not offer legal services to anyone”, said Rama.
