The Ministry of Labor in Germany must make a disposition, according to which, 50 thousand people per year, coming from the Western Balkans region, will have the opportunity to be contracted for work and stay in Germany.
Berlin has previously allowed 25 thousand people from the region to immigrate to Germany, so the figure will be doubled in the future. The German Ministry of Labor will extend this rule, according to Deutsche Welle.
The deputies will discuss the proposal of a new immigration law, which will better regulate the influx of work force. The rule for the Western Balkan region is not included in the new immigration law, but is part of a disposition which is being discussed by the German government.
Some members of the government are against a special regulation for the Western Balkans, which would be implemented outside the framework of the new immigration law. One of them is the Green Party politician, responsible for the internal policies, Misbah Khan.
“Our goal is to make Germany attractive for immigrants, but regulations such as this for the Western Balkans are too much,” expressed Khan.
