The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, while he was at the session of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Immigrants, declared that his country’s vote pro-Kosovo for the membership in the Council of Europe was not against Serbia.

Montenegrin Vijesti reports that Abazović recalled Article 4 of the Ohrid Agreement, saying that “one country will not stop another if it wants to join a certain international organization.”

“Montenegro voted together with 33 other countries. Article 4 of the Ohrid Agreement states that one country cannot prevent another country to join a particular international organization. Montenegro’s interest here is the greatest. It is reflected in regional cooperation and stability. We cannot make other contribution to the solution of these issues, we can only be friendly and invite the states to find a common language”, declared the Albanian Prime Minister.

The head of the executive of Montenegro added that his country has good relations with Serbia.

“I have been very collegial, I said that we will vote for Kosovo and that there is nothing against Serbia. We are a country that has recognized Kosovo, like all other countries that have recognized it, we also understand the countries that have not recognized Kosovo”, he declared, among other things.

The Ambassador of Montenegro, Bozhidarka Krunic, to the Council of Europe, supported Kosovo’s entry into the EC last week, at the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the EC. Krunič voted according to the instructions of the Montenegrin Government.
