The number of doctors who are leaving Kosovo is increasing. Only during the four months of this year, 91 doctors have requested professional certificates, which they need for concluding contracts in countries outside Kosovo. These numbers have been confirmed by the president of the Chamber of Doctors of Kosovo, Pleurat Sejdiu.
“During these four months, there are 91 medical colleagues who have requested ethical-professional certificates, this document is required to sign contracts with health institutions in Germany but also in all EU countries. Of this number of 91, some have left, some are in the final stage of visas, some in the contracting stage. In total, there are 91 doctors who have completed the documents for leaving, or have left,” he said.
He also added that the liberalization of visas for Kosovo, according to him, will affect the increase in the number of doctors who will leave Kosovo.
Sejdiu says that the doctors who are leaving Kosovo every day are mostly young or unemployed specialists.
