118 doctors who start this year the 4-year specialization in Medicine have signed bilateral contracts with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to serve everywhere the country needs, after completing their studies.

Young doctors have chosen among 26 branches of specialization in different fields of medicine.

Pediatrics, imaging, anesthesia-resuscitation, cardiology/internists and general surgery are the most preferred branches this year.

For four years during their training, young doctors will receive 80% of the specialist doctor’s salary, which amounts to 1 thousand euros per month for each specialist, who is under contract with the Ministry of Health.

The strategy of the Ministry of Health for the years 20-30 foresees that every city has the specialist doctors needed for the health of the population.

Meeting the need for specialist doctors across the country continues to be a challenge.
