The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted for the first time after the disappointing result of the Together We Win coalition in Sunday’s local elections.
Through a status on Facebook, Meta calls the “narco-elections of the narco-state” which, according to him, were destroyed before they started.
Meta states that the opposition voters were threatened by the prime minister about the consequences if they voted for the opposition, while the voting centers were turned into places where the law was openly violated and where pressure was exerted by administration leaders.
“The local elections of May 14 in Albania were destroyed before they even started. By not registering the opposition illegally, removing the commissioners and counters of the opposition. Using taxpayers to pressure every business, threatening opposition voters with the prime minister’s mouth, about the consequences they would have if they voted for the opposition. But the elections were annihilated even on the day of the elections, with the undoing of the basic element of security in the elections, which was the electronic identification of the voters, turning the voting centers into places where the law was openly violated and where unprecedented pressure was exerted, being filled with hundreds of ministry directors, general secretaries, mayors, municipal administrators and all kinds of employees, including policemen and thugs.
All this with the support of criminal groups and drug traffickers, together with the State Police. Albanians gave a very important message of courage by participating in these elections and facing the mafia pressure of the narco-state. The narco-elections brought out all the drug manipulators of the government, who are recorded by name and surname. Their actions have been recorded and thousands of facts weigh on them. The Euro lost 10% of its value, so much it was used to influence voters. The Albanian people are much bigger than the narco-government and the Democracy and Change they deserve is inevitable. No narco-election can hold hostage the freedom and future of Albanians”, writes Meta on Facebook.
