Special Prosecutor’s Office has issued arrest warrants for several former officials of the Durrës municipality, among them is the former mayor Vangjush Dako.

It is learned that the arrest warrant against Dako has not yet been executed.

Journalist of Euronews Albania, Eni Ferhati reported that unofficially it has been learned that it is a question of a criminal proceeding investigated for a long time regarding an illegal construction.

The charges against Dako and the former municipal officials are falsification of documents and abuse of office.

“It is about a construction permit granted in 2011, where former officials are suspected of abusing their duties by favoring different persons. This file was investigated by SPAK prosecutor Sotir Kllapi”, reported journalist Ferhati.

Dako has been declared non grata by United States since 2019, he and his family are not allowed to enter the US.
