Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he would not comment on anything after the meeting with representatives of the QUINT countries.

“I have made the decision not to say anything about the meeting with representatives of the QUINT countries and the head of the European Union delegation in Serbia. I believe it is better for everyone,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.

On Wednesday morning, Serbia’s President met with representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Germany, as well as the head of the EU delegation.

The meeting took place one day after the Kosovo Police arrested Milun Milenković Lune in northern Kosovo.

Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla stated that Milenković was one of the organizers of the attack against KFOR and the Kosovo Police in Zvečan two weeks ago.

Tensions in northern Kosovo have been increasing since May 26th when the Kosovo Police assisted Albanian mayors in taking over municipal facilities, despite the resistance from local residents.

The tensions reached a peak on May 29th when local Serbs clashed with NATO’s Kosovo mission soldiers, KFOR. Dozens of individuals from both sides were injured in the clashes.

These mayors were elected on April 23rd, but the elections were boycotted by Serbian parties and the local population.

The international community has blamed Kosovo for the situation in the north.

The European Union has prepared initial measures, such as sanctions against Kosovo due to the government’s failure to take immediate steps to reduce tensions in the north, according to diplomatic sources cited by Radio Free Europe.

These measures will include the suspension of invitations for Kosovo’s participation in high-level events and bilateral visits from the European Union and its member states.

They have stated that meetings will only take place when necessary to address the crisis in northern Kosovo and find a solution.
