Elections in the municipality of Kamza will not be repeated.

This was the final decision of the Electoral College of Albania, which rejected a request from the “Together We Win” coalition this Monday to declare the elections invalid.

The claims of the coalition, led by political duo Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha, were mainly related to electronic voting.

According to them, the result was predetermined through electronic devices, thus they demanded a computer expertise from foreign experts.

By alleging manipulation of the devices, the “Together We Win” coalition requested that the repeat elections be conducted in a traditional manner, without the use of technology.

On Tuesday, the Electoral College will also consider the coalition’s request for invalidation in the municipalities of Kuçova and Elbasan.

For the latter, similar to Kamza where electronic voting and counting was implemented, the coalition demands that the elections be held in a traditional manner.

So far, the only legal battle won by the coalition is the one for the municipality of Rrogozhina.

On June 15, the Electoral College decided to repeat the elections in this municipality.

The elections will also be repeated in the municipality of Kukës, following the dismissal by Prime Minister Edi Rama of the Socialist mayor Safet Gjici, due to an erotic video scandal that made waves in the media.
