Taulant Balla was sworn in this Saturday as the new Minister of Interior of Albania.
In the ceremony held at the Presidency premises, Speaker of the Parliament Lindita Nikolla, Socialist Party deputies, and others were present.
After the national anthem was performed, the reading of the appointment decree, and the oath formula, Minister Balla took the oath on the Constitution before the President of the Republic Bajram Begaj.
President Begaj presented the appointment decree to the Minister of Interior, wishing him success in his new and important role.
The Parliament approved two days ago the President’s decree appointing Taulant Balla as the Minister of Interior, with 75 votes in favor, 16 against, and 1 abstention.
President Begaj decreed the appointment of Taulant Balla as Minister of Interior on July 10.
Balla replaces former Minister Bledi Çuçi, who was dismissed from his position.
Previously, Balla has served as the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party.
