The summer season has followed with an increase in road accidents. The month of July marked the highest number of them.

According to INSTAT data, this month there are 125 accidents out of 105 that occurred in July 2022. The number of road accidents has increased by 19.0%.

Also, the number of people involved and injured by the accidents has also increased. Based on official reports, 165 people were injured during the past month.

Road accidents, in 92% of cases, occurred as a result of the driver’s behavior.

The highest number of accidents in this period was committed by the 25-34 age group, accounting for 23.2% of the total number of accidents. Accidents in this age group have increased by 3.6%, compared to the same period of the previous year.

Monday, when work starts after the weekend, is also the day with the most accidents. The first hours of the evening have the highest flow of accidents.

In the first seven months of 2023, there are 653 road accidents out of 686 accidents that occurred in the same period of the previous year. The number of road accidents decreased by 4.8%.

The number of accident victims is 887 people from 971 accident victims in the same period of the previous year.

Road accidents, in 13.8% of cases, occurred as a result of pedestrian behavior. The number of accidents according to pedestrian behavior for the seven months has increased by 4.7%.
