The growing trend of Italian tourists who would visit Albania this year has been reflected in the first months of 2023.
The data published by the Ministry of Tourism show that for the period January-June the number of Italian visitors has increased by 57% compared to the same period last year.
310 thousand Italians visited Albania until June, while last year, in the same period, the figures spoke of only 198 thousand Italians.
After the influx reported during the months of July and August, the number of Italian visitors is expected to increase significantly by the end of this tourist season.
However, Italian citizens remain in second place. Kosovo citizens lead the list with over 1.38 million visitors, or 43% more than the same period a year ago, the figures speak of nearly 970 thousand tourists from Kosovo.
The countries of the region, such as North Macedonia and Montenegro, are ranked third and fourth, while a decrease in numbers has been noticed among vacationers from Serbia.
For the first 6 months of 2023, nearly 32,500 tourists from Serbia visited Albania, 18% less than in 2022, when the figures spoke of nearly 40,000 visitors.
