Kosovo has inked a significant agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) valued at around 35 million dollars, marking a positive step towards bolstering the country’s developmental efforts.
The Development Grant Agreement was formally signed by Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, and the Acting Director of USAID, Kerry Monaghan-Hogler.
President Osmani emphasized that these funds will play a pivotal role in advancing Kosovo’s developmental goals and expressed her gratitude for the enduring support from the U.S. Government and its citizens.
During a press conference, Osmani also highlighted that this agreement will contribute to the ongoing fight against corruption and enhance the government’s responsiveness to the needs of its citizens.
Speaking at a joint press conference with President Osmani, U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the United States and the people of Kosovo.
Hovenier underlined that the United States has been a steadfast supporter of Kosovo since 1999, investing over 2 billion dollars in the region to promote shared interests and further its development.
