The Government of Kosovo has decided to allocate 100 euros to all children under 16 years old in December.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stated that the Government aims to advance the scheme next year, following the principle that those with lower incomes should benefit more.
So far, the Government has allocated 10 euros for children under 16 and 20 euros for children up to two years old.
Kurti has pledged that in the future, children will receive additional amounts ranging from 50 to 150 euros.
In the latest Government meeting, Kurti stated that this month, pensioners will also receive 100 euros, in addition to their regular pension.
Pensions in Kosovo range from 100 to 265 euros, depending on the contribution.
From January to July of this year, Kosovo has spent over 305 million euros on financial support for pensioners and those in various social schemes.
The projected budget for the next year is expected to be 3.3 billion euros, compared to this year’s 3.2 billion euros.
