The young people of the country are more and more oriented towards professional education. At the public professional center, 19 training programs for different professions are currently offered. The trainees confess that the time has come for a trade, as it is easier for them to be employed both inside and outside the country, and this is because the diploma of this vocational training center is recognized in many EU countries.

Tourism, as a branch with demands for cooks and chefs, has made a branch in this center dedicated to the culinary arts in order to produce qualified employees since the salaries are constantly increasing.

On the other hand, the director of this center, Aleksandër Lalaj, says that there is a cooperation agreement with the municipalities of Berat and Kuçova, while the agreement with the municipality of Roskovec is being signed for the coming year.

“There are 29 groups in progress with an attendance of 300-310 trainees, this is not only about the District of Fier, but also Berat, as the Center has opened some specialties even there since there is no Center for Professional Training, such as tailoring, electricity, histaulic in Berat and in Kuçovo” said Aleksandër Lalaj.

Lalaj affirms that of the nearly 1,200 artisans who graduate from this center, nearly 200 are employed in the state and private sector here in Albania, some are self-employed and some emigrate abroad for employment, as the diploma is recognized in EU countries.
