The head of the Freedom Party (PL), Ilir Meta, held a meeting with PL structures in the city of Korça this Saturday. In his speech, Meta also stopped at the protest of the farmers of Pirgu and Maliqi, for which he expressed the support of the political force he represents.

Meta emphasized that the Open Balkans initiative destroyed local production by opening all the roads to foreign production and removing support for Albanian farmers.

He emphasized that the ruling Freedom Party will offer grants of 10,000 euros to every family that will create its own farm, and will be exempt from taxes for 5 years.

“Renaissance has had a deliberate policy of depopulating Albania and exterminating livestock. According to INSTAT, from 349 thousand cows in 2017, today not even 200 thousand cows are listed. And this situation of halving and extermination is the most subtle, so dairy prices have also increased by 40%.

The policy of the Freedom Party has been and will be in support of local production, it will be in support of the farmer, it will be in support of all those who want to stay in their village, in their country, in the city of their own and who want to produce and live with their own sweat. Our policy is to give each family a grant of at least 10,000 euros to set up a farm, with purebred or small cows, and to exempt them from taxes for the first 5 years, so that they consolidate their business”, said Meta.
