The session of the United Nations Security Council, in which Albin Kurti, prime minister of Kosovo, and Aleksandar Vučić, president of Serbia clashed, should constitute for the American expert on the Western Balkans, Edward Joseph, a turning point in the politics of Kosovo.
“Albin Kurti and his close party associates must understand the self-inflicted damage to Kosovo’s national interests from incessant populism. Now is the time to change the course”, wrote Edwaed Joseph on the X platform.
Joseph thinks that first for the euro/dinar, Albin Kurti should produce a plan, not a ban.
Secondly, he writes, the only way to recover from an own goal is to score one in the other net, insisting that Deçan’s decision should be implemented and serious work should be done with the American Embassy for the implementation of Ohrid agreement. The Ambassador of Great Britain to the UN, James Kariuki, meanwhile, in the session mentioned three urgent steps, which should be implemented according to him to reduce the tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.
