The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has been reportedly threatened with murder.

The Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) cites reliable sources from security institutions in Kosovo that immediately after the UN Security Council meeting, they have obtained information that there have been attempts from Serbia to assassinate the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in Skopje, where he stayed last night.

Prime Minister Kurti arrived in Skopje last night, and all security measures were taken in advance, in coordination with the security institutions of North Macedonia.

RTK has been informed that assessments of the threat to Kurti’s life have been serious, especially considering that they have come from several sources of information.

“It has been a Serbian operational combination, where media deceptions have been intertwined with actions on the ground by possible assailants of the Serbo-Macedonian extreme, close to the Russian Federation, but under the control of Serbian institutions,” the source told RTK.

RTK has learned that Prime Minister Kurti has already entered Kosovo, and the cooperation of security institutions between Kosovo and North Macedonia has professionally secured Kurti’s entire perimeter.

Commenting on the assassination attempt plan against him, Kurti said that he saw numerous police forces in Skopje during the meeting he had with sister Socialist parties.

Kurti emphasized that he has learned that there are many threats from individuals and structures rooted in official Belgrade.

“I have learned that there are many threats from individuals and structures rooted in official Belgrade. As I came from Skopje, I didn’t feel endangered, but I saw that there were many police forces taking care of this meeting we held, where the special guest was the representative of the German SPD, Lars Klingbeil,” stated Kurti.
