Although during the first two months of 2024 the number of visitors has decreased significantly, restaurants and artisans are satisfied with the income they manage to secure during this period while affirming that the most visitors during the first two months of the year were Albanians.
“For the Albanians in the country, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were the days when you could not find seats and a table, while there are visitors on weekdays, we take reservations for March and April. There are many good premises for this year,” said Astrit Ferra, owner of a restaurant.
Astrit Ferra, owner of one of the restaurants located inside the castle, says that the income he earns from this restaurant justifies his work, but emphasizes the lack of manpower during the flow of work as a problem, which results in a decrease in the service quality.
“We’re fine with the work, it’s just that the service can’t find personnel, it’s a bit difficult for the personnel. They come, stay, work for 1 month or two months and leave,” he said.
Not only the restaurants, but also the artisans are satisfied with the sales of the products they produce, even though in January and February the number of tourists decreases significantly, thus the sales.
Tourism has become the epicenter of investments by many citizens of Berat, only during the year 2023, hundreds of new businesses will be opened, mainly in the field of service, such as hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, or souvenir shops.
