Enea Rossi, 25 years old from Italy, is currently in Elbasan. Not on a business trip, but to get dental service. Rossi tells for Euronews Albania why he chooses to do dental work in Albania.

“I came to Albania to visit because it is a beautiful city, it is very good. There are many good people and for the most important thing I came for the teeth. I have problems with fillings and dentures. The doctor is very good and the price here is much, much cheaper,” he says.

Lela Sejdo Dentistry shows that their flow has increased significantly, while the requested services range from simple check-ups to dental implants.

“Like Enea, I have a lot of patients, mainly from Italy, America, Greece. There have been many patients from France this year, who, in addition to the walks they do in Albania, also come to the clinic to fix not only their teeth. The service that can be offered here is the service for implantology, the laser services are contemporary services”, stomatology shows.

Sejdo emphasizes that the reason why tourists flock to Albanian clinics is the price.

“Of course, the prices in America, for example, are extremely expensive, while the European countries Italy and France are half the price. While the service is the same from the doctor’s side both here and in Italy, Greece or anywhere in Europe”, she says.

This influx has affected the price, and for locals such services are impossible.

Italy, due to its proximity, continues to have the highest number of what we now call dental or aesthetic tourism. And as would be normal, while they receive the service for which they chose Albania, they also do tourism.
