Children of needy families will be financially supported in the first 3 years of life. The social protection strategy for the years 2024-2030 envisages supporting families by providing assistance to children during the first 1000 days of life.

Sociologist Gëzim Tushe, appreciating this initiative, says that this will help children grow up well.

Tushe hopes that this initiative, along with other projects that support families, will lead to an improvement in fertility.

The suggestions of this document are intended to be piloted in the framework of the scheme for “the first 1000 days of a child’s life” and then to be followed by its national implementation based on a good legal and regulatory framework.

Beneficiaries will be the children of families who are treated with economic assistance as well as those who have only one parent. Currently, there are 68,500 children in needy families in Albania.
