Serbia buys planes from France, Vučić: We are close to the agreement

Serbia will buy modern military aircraft from France. The news was announced by President Aleksandar Vučić, during the meetings he held in France on the second day of the visit.

“I am very happy about the results of the talks. We discussed with President Macron for more than 3 hours. I think we have reached some concrete agreements regarding the purchase of Rafale, where I expect the signing of the contract in the next two months and with the presence of the president of France,” said Vučić.

After the meeting with President Macron, Vučić also held a meeting with the Minister of Defense of France. According to the statements of the Serbian president, in this meeting the details of the agreement on the purchase of modern weapons and the renewal of the current Serbian armaments were discussed.

France is one of the world’s leading arms producers. The Rafale aircraft, which were ordered by Serbia, are considered to be the most modern models of attack aircraft. The cost of such an aircraft reaches up to 110 million dollars.
