In a series of 6 standard questions, used by the Barometer – Euronews Albania every month, regarding the citizens’ perception of the general situation in the country, the economy and their expectations in the future, it results that:
All indicators of negative economic evaluation have suffered an increased in the last 6 months.
Asked about the general economic situation in the country, those who rate it as bad and very bad have increased from (39.2%) in December 2023 to (43.8%) in March 2024 and (47.6%) in May 2024.
There is also an increase in the negative assessment regarding the economic situation of the respondents’ families, although in lower values, December 2023- (27%), March 2024 – (28.9%), May 2024 – (29.4%).
When asked about the future, there is a decrease in optimization for the country’s economy, which is confirmed by the responses of citizens compared over time.
In December 2023 – (45.2%) of citizens thought that the economic situation of the country will improve, in March 2024 this figure was (41.1%) and in the last measurements in May 2024 it is (36.8%) of citizens.
The same trend can be seen in the expectations related to the economic situation of the family, in December 2023 – (42.4%) of citizens stated that it will improve, in March 2024 – (39.7%) of them found the same expectation, today in the measurements of lastly, only (36.5%) of citizens have this expectation.
