On the occasion of the June 1 holiday, the Bicycle School was inaugurated in Tirana, which will serve as a space where children will learn pedaling and road traffic rules. During his speech, the mayor Erion Veliaj said that the courses will be held in the mornings, while in the afternoon the environment will be open to all ages, including parents or grandparents who want to accompany the children while they pedal.
“During the mornings we will have all the bicycle courses here, together with the instructors according to the schools. We will organize the classrooms and schools, so that we don’t have a mess, and we will treat it as a lesson, learning the bike and the rules of the road, while the afternoon will be open to everyone from the age of 1 to the age of 101 years old. If someone comes with their grandfather or grandmother, there is also a place to sit. We want it to be an environment for everyone, where children have the biggest share”, stated Veliaj.
The mayor said that this is officially the biggest bicycle school in the Balkans. He said that in 8 years, the Municipality of Tirana has always faced a group of people who want to prevent the city from moving forward, but it has never given up. Veliaj added that today, that Tirana is in its best days, the focus will continue to remain on children.
The Director of the Parks and Recreation Agency, Anisa Ruseti, that the Bicycle School will work to teach children the teaching practice and then the practice on the road by certifying them as cyclists.
