The Assembly of Kosovo held a solemn session on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the country’s liberation. The president of Albania, Bajram Begaj, also gave a speech on this occasion.

He recalled the great contribution of the historical president Ibrahim Rugova, and the activity of the national issue, Adem Demaçi. The sacrifice of the Jashari family was not left unmentioned either, whom he called “flakadans of freedom”.

“We honor the leader, Adem Jashari, living legend of patriotism. Such men rarely make history”, said Begaj.

According to Begaj, “the internationals were the drafters and implementers of the Kosovo state formation project”.

“Albanians need to preserve and strengthen national and socio-cultural cohesion even today. In the challenges of times, eras and injustices, Albanians have inviolable Albanianism. We need a manifesto of national pride more than ever. Serbia and its allies, a malicious campaign to tarnish the war for the liberation of Kosovo”, said Begaj.

“Kosovo is not alone. Kosovo will not be alone, every battle of yours is our battle. Every success of yours is the success of all Albania”, the head of the Albanian state concluded his speech.

On June 12, 1999, NATO troops entered Kosovo, finally liberating the country from the Serbian occupier.
