The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has talked with the ambassadors of the QUINT countries and that of the European Union about the opening of the bridge over the Ibër River for traffic and for cars.
In the July 17 meeting, according to the press release issued by Kurti’s Office, within the framework of information and coordination with international partners, it was addressed “the importance of coordinating institutional actions to open the bridge over the Ibër River for cars as well, in order to enable complete freedom of movement which helps citizens on both sides of the bridge, without distinction”.
According to the Government, opening the bridge over the Ibër would contribute to the development of the economy and the market “through the easier movement of goods and capital”.
QUINT includes the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy.
At the end of May, the assemblymen of the Vetëvendosje Movement in the Municipality of North Mitrovica demanded that the decision to open the main bridge over the Ibër to traffic be implemented.
