Albania-Azerbaijan, in 2025 the pilot project for the gasification of the city of Korça will start. The ambassador of Azerbaijan in Albania has given details of how this project will work.

The gasification project of the city of Korça is still in the preliminary phase. This is what the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Albania, Anar Huseynov, stated from Korça, who added that next year it is expected that we will have a concrete project.

“We are still in talks with the Albanian state, we are in the phase where we are preparing the documentation and the legal basis. This year we are finalizing this phase, there is still some work to do, it is a big project, so there is a bit of bureaucracy and after a while we will start the ideation of the project. We want to have the pilot project ready for next year”, said Anar Huseynov, the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Albania.

For the mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo, gasification will be the project that will bring Korça’s infrastructure to European standards.

70% of this project will be borne by the Albanian government, while the rest will be supported by the government of Azerbaijan, designed by the SOKAR company, while the gas line will benefit from the international TAP project.
