The Israeli ambassador in Tirana, Galit Peleg, was this Tuesday invited to Euronews Albania where she said that Iran’s missile attack on Israel has passed without any fatalities.

She said she was communicating with her family in Tel Aviv at the time of the attack. They were first put in the shelters and were protected, while then the event returned to normal, according to her, after they were notified that they could leave the shelters.

“We just experienced an Iranian attack. About 180 missiles have been launched by Iran. This is the second time in a few months that we have been attacked by Iran. I was talking to my family on the phone. Thank God there were no fatalities this evening and there are security systems that managed to catch the rockets in time and now things are back to normal. The press spokesman said that they can now leave the shelters, but they must stay close to them”, said Peleg.

According to her, there were no human casualties, while Israel was prepared for such an attack by Iran. Asked what will happen now and whether Israel will respond to this attack, she said that we have to wait for that while adding that Israel has shown that it knows how to react “even in a painful way”.

Asked if Israel was prepared for this attack, she said:

“We knew that the attacks on Israel in the last two years, from Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, we know that Iran is behind it. I don’t know if we knew exactly what they were going to do, but the Iranians never hide their intention to attack Israel. I think we were ready and we are ready. They said they would attack Israel, they were warned by France and other European countries, but they chose to attack, so I believe they will be ready to pay the price, whatever it is,” said the ambassador.

Asked what Israel will do now, the ambassador said that we have to wait and see:

“We have shown the enemies and the world that Israel knows very well how to take its time and respond responsibly and painfully if necessary. We have to wait and see”, said the ambassador.
