The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said this Sunday that starting from the October 7 protest, civil disobedience will be unrestricted.
He said that this disobedience is the only answer that the opposition has left against Prime Minister Rama and his government, which Berisha considers “narcotics”.
In a message addressed to the citizens the day before the protest, Berisha invited all Albanians to join the protest and civil disobedience until the technical government is established.
“But if individually, every Albanian has at least one personal reason for battle, today we all, as Albanians, also have common reasons for unification.
Albanians today must be together to save democracy. Because it is the lack of free choices, the blocking of the rotation that has brought upon you all the misfortunes I have mentioned so far. Albanians today must be together, for their dignity. Because life in a dictatorship, there is no dignity, my friends. There is no dignity when you save a child’s daily meal and remain silent about it.
There is no dignity when the money earned with honesty and fatigue is stolen with taxes. To steal with excessive fines. And this money then goes to Edi Rama’s plane taxi flights. 4 million euros go to fabulous yards, to Edi Rama’s office. They go to the construction of luxury hotels in Erion Veliaj. They go into the pockets of Olta Xhaçka’s strategic husband. There is no dignity, friends, when the trafficker, with arms protected by the narco police, threatens you as if he were your boss. When the citizen lives as a slave, he barely makes it through the month. While Edi Rama, the ministers and their traffickers live like a king.
There is no dignity when a young deputy is in charge, who is imprisoned because he informed you that the brother of the minister of the interior is convicted of cocaine trafficking and continues to traffic quietly in Vlora
There is no dignity when you swallow every humiliation, when you accept every evil, just because you are threatened with a salary that does not even cover vital needs. But above all, Albanians today must be together, for Albania. Which from a calculated mild genocide, has decreased in spirit by a full 40% in 10 years.
Therefore, the civil disobedience that starts tomorrow, on October 7, at 6 o’clock, marks a milestone in the history of Albania’s democracy. Because tomorrow we not only start paralyzing the narco-state, but we set a precedent for our democracy, for our descendants, that when evil threatens us, we react. That when our rights are violated, we attack, just as every European people guarantees its democracy.
Today or never for a free vote is our turn.
Friends, if Europe teaches us one thing, it is that democracy is earned, not given. Therefore, when the European peoples paralyze life for 5% of our problems, the Albanians will have no hesitation, no difficulty in demanding their basic human rights. As a Democratic Party, we are over 600,000 Albanians. As an opposition front, we are the numerical majority of Albania. We have all the strength. We have all the responsibility to take care of the country.
Therefore, once again, I invite every Albanian, on October 7, at 6 p.m., to the march towards Tirana
No speeches. Because this is the battle of all Albanians. Starting tomorrow. Civil disobedience, no return. Until the technical government. Because only with a technical government, free elections are guaranteed. Only with free choice, delayed rotation is realized. And only with rotation, Albania will be saved!”, said Berisha.
We remind you that the leader of the opposition has been under house arrest since December 30, 2023. He is accused of the “Partizani” case.
