The Assembly of Kosovo called an extraordinary session again, but this time the topic of discussion was the problem with the food supply of Kosovo’s soldiers. This session was also boycotted by the deputies of the government and members of the government cabinet. The non-participation was announced through a press conference.

“The request for an extraordinary session by the opposition parties is the continuation of a series of misinformation that aims to misinform the citizen for several days now. This is being done with the aim of weakening the role of the Kosovo Security Force”, said Enver Dugolli, deputy of VV.

While his colleague, Mefail Bajqinovci, blamed the company that for years had provided service to the KSF.

“The Ministry of Defense did not give the contract to the company ‘Beni Dona’, a company which for more than 15 years has created a monopoly in this ministry. From tenders for food only from the Ministry of Defense, this company has won millions and millions of euros. Secondly, the Ministry of Defense has not announced a tender, but with the last tender, it has announced an emergency contract since on September 30, the contract with the company “Beni Dona” expired, which this company had in an emergency manner for four years in a row”, said Mefail Bajqinovci, deputy of VV.

The opposition, however, continued the session by strongly criticizing the government and Prime Minister Albin Kurti for the created situation.

“The truth is that no soldier left his uniform because of food or family reunification, fabrications that have been told in the media. There are many other demotivating causes, such as salaries and undignified conditions, manipulations with undeserved promotions, trainings abroad also with manipulations, then overtime work, non-compensation, lack of transport and others”, said Hisen Berisha, deputy of PDK.

According to Anton Quni of LDK, this created situation is a violation of national security.

Ramush Haradinaj of AAK repeated his position that Kurti works for Serbia.

Many other MPs of the opposition came to the podium, listing accusations and criticisms against the government. At the end of the debate, it is anticipated that a resolution will be adopted that seeks to solve this problem as soon as possible.
