A remaining surface of land, which is suspected to belong to an ancient settlement in Pogradec, has prompted archaeologists to start excavations to reveal the secrets of the underground.

The archeology leading the expedition shows that the excavations are taking place in the heart of the ancient settlement, where it is believed that the pottery materials found, but also the remaining foundations, show that people lived in that area in dwellings built with baked mud bricks.

Archaeological discoveries in this area show that about 8 thousand years ago there was a developed life, including objects and figurines of pagan beliefs.

Archaeologists emphasize that the area of the settlement exceeds 4 hectares, but today very little is left, as the urbanization in the area and the construction of palaces and houses have covered it.
