On the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Berlin Process, the achievements of the countries of the Western Balkans were presented in Pristina.

In a debate organized by the German Embassy, it was said that progress has been made, but there is still work to be done.

“These 10 years have been evidence of Germany’s commitment to Kosovo and the Western Balkans in general. The creation of a single regional market affects the lives of people, businesses and students every day because of the Berlin Process. Mobile phone roaming charges are lower,” said Jörn Rohde, Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo.

Jeton Zulfaj, political advisor to Prime Minister Albin Kurti, emphasized that the Berlin Process has been a hope and driving force for the countries of the Western Balkans. “The Berlin process has been the driving force for the region to connect with each other, stay connected and integrate more with the EU. So, EU integration, regional cooperation and economic integration, as well as the connection with enlargement, are again on the agenda,” explained Zulfaj.

Business representatives also emphasized that Kosovo has benefited from this initiative of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. “When it comes to business relations with Germany, it is easy for us to say that we have improved. This can be seen not only from the data, but also from all the statistics we have. However, it would not be correct to say that this improvement is a direct impact from the Berlin Process,” said Nora Hasani from the German-Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

After this discussion, the German ambassador, Jörn Rohde, in an exclusive interview for Euronews Albania, spoke not only about the achievements and challenges of the Western Balkan countries within the Berlin Process, but also about the Serbian military threats to Kosovo, the dialogue process and EU measures towards our country.

You will be able to watch his full interview on Saturday on Euronews Albania
