The Special Prosecutor’s Office has seized an apartment belonging to former Minister of Health Ilir beqja. The apartment, located in Vlora was not declared by the former minister. Beqja who held office between 2013 and 2017 has been in prison since July 2024 after being accused of corruption.

Ervin Salianji, the former Democratic Party deputy who is serving a 1-year prison sentence for making a false police report, has sent a public letter to foreign embassies in Tirana , detailing his version of events. Salianji said the action against him is politically motivated and he is the only politician convicted because he made a public denunciation against a former ministers brother who was convicted in Italy for drug trafficking.

Durim Bami, wanted in albania in connection with ordering murder, drug trafficking and organising a criminal group, has requested he not be extradited. Bami was arrested in Dubai and his lawyers say if he is returned to Albania there are 15 people who want to kill him.

A 25-year-old man lost his life today in Elbasan. According to the police, KRISTI BALUKJA was Killed as a quantity of explosives he was placing into someone’s car, exploded unexpectedly. Police say the victim and the owner of the car were involved in a physical altercation several days ago.

MEP Fredi Beleri, who was previously imprisoned for vote buying in himara during the last local elections, visited Tirana today as part of an eu Parliament delegation of the inter-parliamentary Stabilization Association committee. Beleri was attacked by some citizens with eggs and water while he was leaving a meeting at the Parliament of Albania.

The Government of Kosovo has decided to raise wages for those working in the public sector. Prime Minister Ablin Kurti said salaries will increase by 55 euros in January and 110 euros in July. The annual cost of this increase for the state budget is 120 million euros.
